Serial Mom House:  My mini tour of 600 Lake Drive in Towson, MD

Continuing from my earlier post, most of these pictures are just for fun since the interior wasn’t used much for filming.  Starting with the bird-shutters just outside the mud room that doubled as the “Sutphin kitchen window”.  Next, is the 2002 Azalea House award below the bay window of the dining room.  Just beyond that is one of several birdhouses surrounding the property which REALLY made me feel like Beverly Sutphin was watching me from inside.

The interiors for the Sutphin residence were built on a sound stage, but the actual living room of this house was used as Rosemary Ackerman’s living room for the scene when Beverly smashes the Faberge Egg in front of Dottie Hinkle.  Beverly and Rosemary head past the stairs toward the front door leaving poor Dottie Hinkle stammering in fear.

Just above the living room fireplace is a custom Serial Mom poster that shows a picture of the house (on the left) and the owner (on the right).  The owner’s son gave me the full tour that included the game room in the basement and the liquor cabinet inside the previously mentioned mud room.

And finally, the exterior of Rosemary Ackerman’s house next door.  Whenever anyone asks me if I recycle, I try to do my best Rosemary impersonation…”I don’t have room in my kitchen!!”
