3301 Eastern Ave., Baltimore, MD 21224 Just outside the Hefty Hideaway (aka Stella’s Bridals) is The Eldorado Beauty Academy on “The Avenue” where Edna Turnblad (Divine) gets some GIANT barrel curls! It seems this location in Highlandtown got a bit of a makeover as well!  If you click the address link you’ll see on the far right what looks like the entrance they took.  But after comparing it to the movie I believe the correct entrance (just to the left near the tree) received a new facade. The Eldorado Academy of Cosmetology was a REAL place there at one time but it officially closed on August 4th, 1993.  Most recently this location was a Teen Center.
